Fueled by a passion for hand-tied fishing flies and a decade of import/export experience, AGS Flies was born. Instead of focusing solely on vertical growth, we chose to grow "wider" by empowering others. In 2008, we started mentoring and coaching youth in Kenya to develop Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to create employment. Most of our partners are college graduates facing economic hardship due to unemployment. By tying flies, they are able to take care of their families and stay out of trouble. Most have become reputable, Godly people living decent lives. Chris, whom I met in 2008, continues to tie some of the best flies in the market and helps youth learn the skill. The passion for seeing people improve their lives through this business is humbling. We appreciate our committed partners who buy our flies, for it is not just a trade but brings joy to the angler and the youth in Kenya who make the flies as well.
